The 9th IAAF World Championships in Athletics’ marathon is revealed. Designed by Alain Spira, the Organizing Committee’s Competition Director, this marathon has been designed to enhance Paris’ architecture and history.
The runners will leave from Paris’ Hôtel de Ville (Town Hall) for just over 42kms (42.195 kms) of intense effort. From the “Place du Chatelet” to “Bastille” by the embankments of the Seine, from the “Musée du Louvre” to the “Place des Vosges” passing by the “Marais”, from the Opéra Garnier” to the “Place Vendôme” by the “Grands Boulevards”… Paris will open its heart to the people. After this, the marathon will take on a prestigious dimension with a succession of sites that make Paris’ reputation : the “Place de la Concorde”, the “Champs Elysées”, the “Arc de Triomphe”, the “Trocadéro” and the “Tour Eiffel”.
