VOLUNTEERS: READY FOR THEIR PIECE OF THE ACTION (3/10)
Paris 2003 Saint-Denis
With the 3,600 Volunteer team now complete, the Organising Committee will regularly run features on the men and women who will be putting their talent into making the 9th IAAF World Championships in Athletics a great success.
Aymeric de Valon : High jump magician
Barely 19 years of age, Aymeric de Valon has two great passions: high jumping and magic - and he excels at both. Witness his recent runners-up finish in a regional high jump championship. He has also been known to treat athletics fans to impromptu conjuring performances. Every inch the entertainer, Aymeric has delighted all kinds of audiences with his panoply of magic tricks.
Though he spends many hours on his favourite hobbies, Aymeric is also a busy mathematics student in the Haute Savoie region of France. He currently spends a lot of time gaining work experience in local businesses.
In a similar vein, he will be employed during the 9th IAAF world Championships in Athletics, looking after spectators at the Stade de France®. He also harbours a desire to display his magical prowess at the Athletes Village during the championships and leave the world’s foremost athletes wide-eyed with wonder.
