The members of the sponsoring committee
all united by the same passion for athletics
 There are less than ten months left before the Opening of the Paris 2003 Saint-Denis World Championships in Athletics. And the vast puzzle of the event is starting to take shape. The last piece : a Sponsoring Committee constituted on the initiative of Jean Dussourd, the Organising Committee's President, and headed by Michel Jazy, former European 1,500m Champion.
 Initially, the idea was to bring together around these Championships a group of personalities, from sport or not, who had in common the same interest, at different levels, in Athletics and Athletes. A group of personalities, united by the same cause and motivated by the same desire to share their enthusiasm with the general public. They will be promoting the event ,during the next ten months, to much more than just the circle of Athletics fans.
 What a nice plan! And already a real success. The Sponsoring Committee is made up by thirty members, and a President. What a good surprise to discover that the members are a combination of former Athletics celebrities (Guy Drut, Jocelyn Delecour, Roger Bambuck, Pierre Quinon, Michel Bernard), French Champions from different sports (Luc Alphand, Yannick Noah, Robert Pires, Laura Flessel…), show business celebrities (Jean-Hugues Anglade, Carolyn Carlson…), media celebrities (Michel Drucker, Pierre Albaladejo, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor…), and "Civil society "personalities (Patrick Baudry, Guy Savoy…). A proof of the interest aroused by this event is that two members of the International Olympic Committee, Jean-Claude Killy and the Prince Albert of Monaco, have accepted Michel Jazy's invitation and will bring their renown and support to the Competition.
 Created this summer, the members of the Paris 2003 Saint-Denis World Championships in Athletics' Sponsoring Committee will be massively present, on Saturday 14th of September, during the Grand Prix Final at the Stade Charléty. In the upcoming weeks and months, we should hear about it quite often, since all the members have promised to participate in at least three events organised by the Committee. And they have also promised to take advantage of all good opportunities to talk about the event.
