LE MOT DU PRESIDENT DE LA FFA

BERNARD AMSALEM - French Athletics Federation President
"A real challenge for our federation"

For the first time in the F.F.A.'s history, France has been selected by the International Association of Athletics Federations to host the 9th IAAF World Championships in Athletics from 22 to 31 August 2003 at the Stade de France®.
The organisation of such an event represents a real challenge for our federation and for the public and private partners brought together as part of the Paris 2003 Saint-Denis Public Interest Group.
With the entire French athletics family behind us, we are confident that we can stage a truly outstanding event.
Each and every one of us will be doing all we can to ensure the world's top athletes, from the 210 participating countries, enjoy the best possible conditions in a spirit of friendship and solidarity.
It will be an opportunity for us all to demonstrate France's expertise at staging large-scale events, a golden chance for our federation to boost the popularity and development of our magnificent sport.
I welcome you all warmly.
May I wish all athletes, administrators, journalists and accompanying personnel an enjoyable stay in our beautiful country, at Paris Saint-Denis in 2003.
