A number of greeting points have been set up at the venues for the 9th IAAF World Championships in Athletics to welcome the various delegations to Paris, Saint-Denis. We take a look at how accredited persons will be treated.
Accredited persons : land in style
With some 8,000 accredited persons coming through the two Paris airports between 15 August and 1 September, fluidity is obviously a major issue. LOC staff members are on hand to greet all accredited persons as they get off the plane. A special customs supervisor then handles the necessary visa issues before luggage is picked up and a personal welcome provided by the 110 hosts and hostesses, 30 supervisors at the eleven welcome desks at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle (8) and Orly (3) airports. There, cars and their drivers are ready to take them to the official hotels. Accredited personnel find another welcome desk at their hotel where any questions will be promptly answered.
The 9th IAAF World Championships in Athletics will get off to a flying start as accredited persons receive a warm welcome by the Organising Committee the moment they step off the plane. Spectators will benefit from tourist information points to help may their stay more enjoyable.
